The Rolex GMT-Master 1675 is a legendary pilot’s watch, first introduced in 1959 as the follow-up to the original GMT-Master. With its signature 24-hour bezel and dedicated GMT hand, it remains one of the most recognizable and desirable vintage Rolex models on the market. The 1675 also marked a key innovation in the GMT line by being the first to feature crown guards. Early production featured glossy dials, but Rolex transitioned to matte dials around 1966.
This circa 1978 example is a standout—featuring a rich, vibrant bezel and a perfectly aged light yellow lume that contrasts beautifully against the matte black dial. It’s an eye-catching and highly collectible piece in excellent overall condition.
What makes this one especially rare is its Mark 3 “Radial” dial, a configuration distinguished by its smaller lume plots set further from the minute track. This layout gives the watch a distinct look and is among the most sought-after matte dial variations by collectors.
Adding to its value and provenance, this watch comes complete with its original box and auction papers from Sotheby’s, offering both authenticity and a prestigious collecting story.
